Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy treatments focus on addressing each patient’s injury through multiple services and techniques in order to improve the patient’s ability to move, to reduce pain, to restore function, and to prevent disability. Physical therapists treat a number of conditions to improve daily functional ability and quality of life.

  

Services/techniques that may be included in your treatment plan are:​​

  • Therapeutic/Rehabilitative Exercises

  • ​Manual Techniques

  • Myofascial Release

    • A type of gentle, constant massage that releases tightness and pain throughout the muscles​

  • Mechanical Traction

    • ​A machine used to produce a steady and controlled traction or decompression force on the lumbar spine

  • Paraffin Treatment

  • Hot packs

  • Cold packs

  • Ultrasound

  • Electrotherapy

    • A pain management technique using electrical stimulation​

  • Fluidotherapy

    • ​A high-intensity heat treatment consisting of a dry whirlpool of finely divided solid particles suspended in a heated air stream

  • Iontophoresis

    • Application of medication through electrical stimulation​
